Protection and Indemnity Club. It is a mutual insurance association of shipowners covering risks not covered by the normal marine insurance market. The risks covered mainly concern shipowners’ liabilities towards third parties, such as cargo damage, loss of life or crew injuries.
Comments: Many offices of representatives of the mutual insurance association – in which brokers are working – are in Greece and major other centers abroad, who come in contact with shipowners to insure their ships.
